Billions of Reasons to Demand Better Contracts

UPS released fat profit numbers today. The company made $1.3 billion in the 2nd quarter. The company projects record profits for the year. The money is there for a good contract.

UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters can’t let the IBT settle short or sell us out again.

In one year and five days, the UPS contract will expire. The next contract will be negotiated while harassment and profits are both at all-time highs at UPS.

Company executives in Atlanta announced today they expect earnings for the year to reach as much as $6.10 per share. That would mean UPS would make over $5.3 billion this year of pure profit, after all expenses and taxes.

The explosion of online shopping means more volume and more revenue for UPS.  Profits and revenue are up at UPS Freight too.

That’s great—but Teamster members need to demand our fair share of the profits we create for this company.

Teamsters United is bringing members together to fight harassment and contract givebacks and win the contracts we deserve.

UPS and UPS Freight Teamsters remember how Hoffa, Ken Hall and Sean O’Brien teamed up with the company to force through a weak contract last time. We can’t let that happen again.

Teamsters at UPS and UPS Freight have leverage. After the sellout last time, 70% of us voted against the Hoffa-Hall Slate in the International Union election.

Members are angry—and we have the numbers to vote down the national contracts if our issues aren’t addressed. The company knows that—and so does the Hoffa administration.

If we stick together, we can win the contracts we deserve.
