El Paso Teamsters Organizing for Change

El Paso Teamsters members in Local 745 met with John Palmer, Southern Region VP Candidate this past Saturday to discuss changing the direction of our union going into 2016.

“Everyone here in El Paso is fed up. We’re ready for change so we went to meet John Palmer and learn what Teamsters United is about, and we liked what we heard,” says Adrian Gonzalez, a package car driver, 22-year UPS Teamster and former steward. “We’re putting together a committee here in El Paso to spread the word about the campaign, and with a more informed membership we can prepare to fight for a stronger contract.”

“Everyone wants to get more educated,” says Miguel Ramos, 26 year Teamster. “We’ve been getting out to flyer around the area, at different centers. It’s important to meet with members from different sections and different centers who can spread the word in their area. We’re especially going after the young members, because this is about more than just us – it’s about a better future for our Union.”
