Election Supervisor Certifies Teamsters United Petitions

Accredited_thumb.jpg

It’s official! It will be Hoffa-Hall versus Teamsters United in the 2016 election for International Union officers.

The Office of the Election Supervisor has counted our petitions and officially accredited the Teamsters United Slate. The Election Supervisor used statistical sampling to validate 53,896 signatures of the over 63,000 signatures we submitted.

This was more than enough to accredit the Teamsters United candidates in every region.

Thanks to your hard work, Teamsters United will get a free mailing to 1.3 million members when we publish campaign material in the upcoming Teamster Magazine.

A protest has been filed by the Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 237 asserting that Jakwan Rivers is not eligible to be a candidate because of untimely payment of dues. We are awaiting the Election Supervisor’s decision.

Hoffa is using the protest to try to invalidate the tens of thousands of signatures and block the accreditation of the Teamsters United Slate. This has no basis in the rules.
