If we are serious about saving the American Dream, we need to organize the nonunion competition which is dragging Teamster members into a race to the bottom.
Organizing is about more than boosting membership numbers and increasing dues.
It is about building union and worker power and protecting Teamster members by raising the standards of our nonunion competitors.
As General President, Fred Zuckerman will launch coordinated, long-term national organizing campaigns to organize the competition in our core industries.
The International Union will partner with local unions and bring locals together by market area to run coordinated organizing drives that target nonunion competitors that are undercutting local contracts.
We will train an army of Teamster organizers and put them to work on national and local organizing campaigns. We will use creative tactics including striking for recognition and for first contracts.
